Still on chapter 7 of “Confessions of a Fan fiction Writer”, and Noelle suffers the ultimate form of abuse when her cousin Celeste strikes her in the face with her father’s belt.
(I know you’re all asking “Where’s the parents? Why aren’t they involved? Why didn’t anyone bother to call social services, let alone the police?”, but I’ll get to that in a second.)
All we know was that the beating sends Noelle even further down the slippery slope of depression. This time, the depression takes her to a place where she doesn’t want to be; a place filled with misery. there, she has a vision of her favorite characters telling her that their lives are being destroyed by the one thing that should not be allowed.
End of the chapter.
I’ll be back with more.
(As for why no one was called when Noelle was beaten, Noelle herself had seen what had happened to her friend Sarah when her parents finally called for help regarding Sarah’s older sister, Marcia; Sarah ended up being removed from her family. Noelle doesn’t want that to happen to her; which was why she refused to allow her cousin Michael (who witnessed the beating) to tell her parents.)
