NaNoWriMo 2014: Janette Lennox

The sixth story is Janette Lennox and it was written for NaNoWriMo 2013. In this story, a girl finds out that she is the heiress to a secret family legacy when she enrolls in a magical high school.

Written as an alternative to the popular Harry Potter series, 14-year-old Janette Lennox doesn’t seem to fit in with the children at her church boarding school. But that all changes when a wizard comes to take her away from her home and brings her to the famed school Garmaris School of Alchemy and Magic. There, Janette learns that her parents, who had vanished ten years earlier, had been among those who stole the famed Book of Magic from the wicked Gray Witch during the Magical Wars ten years earlier.

Janette decides to find the Book of Magic and protect it from a group of evil witches who want to use the book to take over the world.

Why is the story not finished: I’m on chapter 16 of the story, with intent to finish the story this year. I also released a sample of the story on Feedbooks.com

Fantasy & Asperger’s, Part IX

The Fantasy Film Worlds of George Pal

The Fantasy Film Worlds of George Pal (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

When we last left off, Juniper Chadwell and Caleb Ketterbridge are now living in their own fantasy worlds, but they quickly discover that their fantasy worlds aren’t what they were cracked up to be.

Now we are still focusing on Caleb as he goes from a boy who was shut away from the world to a boy who learns to find his place in the world.

When we first met Caleb in the story “The Emerald Magic“, he was nothing more than a young boy was shut away from the world because of his Asperger’s. His parents, Clifford and Marcella Ketterbidge, refused to allow him to go to school or even out to play; many of the next door neighbors have already plotted to rescue Caleb by the time this story begins.

Yet one night while caleb is in bed, several fairies show up; in a few minutes, Clifford and Marcella are killed and Caleb was kidnapped by the fairies.

Now that Caleb is far from his room and a protective bubble that he was forced to live in, he realizes that he has no choice but to now find his place in the world. I have yet to reach this point, but you can figure out the rest over till I get there.

Unfortunately, due to NaNoWriMo, I will not be able to continue the segment until December. So, you will have to wait to see how this goes.

NaNoWriMo 2014: Magical Compositions

The fifth story is Magical Compositions and it was written for NaNoWriMo 2012. In this story, four friends, all outcasts, form a rock band during the year 1999. But the band is under scrutiny when a cruel bully discovers that the lyrics of their songs are spilling some damning secrets regarding her activities.

For as long as they can remember, Jennifer Warrington, Nancy Levesque, Maura Paltrier and Oriana Harrell have been best friends. They have been in the same classrooms at the same schools for many years. Now, they are seniors at Gothanburg Academy and they all want to go out with a bang. Or more likely, a band. The girls fear graduation since that means that they must leave the world of education behind and also, although they had dodged several attempts from various teachers and students to keep them apart, they know that they will have to leave each other, possibly for good.

But when a former rock star notices them and decides to form them into a clean-cut rock band, that’s when things begin to fall apart for them and before the story ends, school problems, secret crushes, family issues, and a career-ending injury tears the girls apart forever!

Why is the story not finished: because the story is getting too far ahead of itself. Plus, I really need to rewrite the story and get rid of some unnecessary plotlines and characters. Last year, I changed the characters’ names and decided to write my own song lyrics to the songs that were sung by the band.

NaNoWriMo 2014: Life, Sin, & Blood

The fourth story is called Life, Sin, & Blood and it was written for NaNoWriMo 2011. In this story, a popular girl named Nadia Coffey loses EVERYTHING and must live with relatives in Charleston, South Carolina. While trying to fit in, she meets a vampire named Adam Norwood, and they go on an adventure of epic proportions.

Nadia Coffey was the kind of girl who had it all: friends, popularity, looks, and a family who she cared about…until it all goes away in an instant. When a fire burns down her house and her parents are killed, Nadia, her twin brother Drew, and her sister Chelle are sent to stay with their relatives Kurt Webster and Cheri Reyna, who live in Charleston, South Carolina with their children Lacie, Bruce, & Wayne Webster. While trying to fit in at Lochland High School, Nadia has an interesting encounter with a boy named Adam Norwood, who is not like the other boys she has known. Little does she know that Adam is a vampire with ties to Dracula himself; he and his siblings (Toby, Orlando, and Johanna) live in a castle at the edge of town with the Warrain Clan. This clan is headed by the famed vampire Javier Lockhart. Nadia’s realization about Adam not only leads to a thrilling adventure, but it causes nothing but trouble for her as well; and in order to defeat a powerful demon, Nadia will have to rely on Adam, even in he is dangerous and quite captivating at that.

Note: this isn’t your little sister’s vampire story, so I prefer that you keep this one away from her.

Why is the story not finished: because I planned for 25 chapters and a sequel for this story. I plan to finish this story as soon as I can. I had released a sample of the story on Feedbooks.com last year in case you want the sample before I publish this one for real.
