FanFiction Fridays: How Old is Too Old/Young?

In this week’s edition of FanFiction Fridays, I’m going to be talking about the age-old question: how old is too old/young to write fanfiction?

It’s not that at my age, it’s something to be happy about, it’s just that by the time you reach your mid-20s to early 30s and you have been given the gift of creativity, you might want to take a step back with fanfiction and start writing your own stories.

I have already seen the kinds of stories that are out there and most of those stories are written by girls between the ages of 12-16. (most are fanfiction about boy bands, but let’s not start.) What really bothers me is when you’re older than 18 and still making up stories about your favorite fandom.

(Not that I’m against fanfiction and all, per se, but I just feel that it’s better that we drop fanfiction altogether when we reach the magical age of 30)

So, if you’re under the age of 17, it’s kind of cute, but over that, and you’re just creepy. (And this is coming from the person whose fanfiction is written mainly for adults)

I’m still continuing with this controversial subject next week.
