Last week’s blog post dealt with the Teen Rebels and trolls.
Now this week, we’re going to be talking about the hit TV show, “St. Elsewhere.”
For starters, “St. Elsewhere” was a medical drama that took place in the city of Boston. The show sets the standards for various other medical dramas, such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, “House”, and “Chicago Hope”. Plus, the stars of that show should no doubt be familiar to you.
But in the story about four rebellious teenagers, the show is winding down, with an ending that was so controversial, it angered scores of adults (and cat lovers) living in Montagne Beach. Although Josie, Seth, Moira, and Trixie had never seen an episode of “St. Elsewhere”, the fact that they overhear some of their parents’ and teachers’ reactions to the ending will influence them to think about their own futures (and not kill off any innocent kittens).
Plus, at a later point in the story, they experience some of the events of “St. Elsewhere” for themselves.
Here’s the thing: “St. Elsewhere” set a very high standard in TV, something that could not be duplicated. And as for the famous MTM cat, well, that remains to be seen.
