Hello, and welcome to another week of top 10 in fandom. I hoped that you enjoyed the last week’s list, even if you didn’t agree with the topic at hand.

This week’s topic is the top 10 (technically 9) background characters  who deserve their own story. In any given fandom, background characters have been preferred over the main characters, and that’s saying a lot. Plus, we don’t get to hear a lot about them, and fanfiction takes care of that for us.

But why can’t the author of the story dedicate at least one book to these background characters? It would make the story better if we heard it from someone who wasn’t the main characters.

And the top 10 background characters who deserve their own story are as follows:

10. Scrat: we’d like to know why he is obsessed with burying an acorn.

9. Luna Lovegood: after reading about her, I kinda wished that she had her own series.

8. Red Shirts: these guys are always killed off; it would be nice if one of them lived to tell the tale.

7. Rue: because we all cried when she died.

5. Margaery Tyrell: because we want to know what’s her scheme.

4. Seth Clearwater: seriously, who doesn’t like this guy? He seems to be nice, level-headed, and doesn’t have time for petty hate.

3. Every character on the Simpsons: because I said so.

2. Samwise Gamgee: he stuck with Frodo Baggins to the very end, so why not dedicate a story to him?

1. Lyra, Bon-Bon, Octavia, Vinyl Scratch, Derpy, and Time Turner: these characters are known as the other mane six from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, yet we really would like to see an episode of the show (or even a spin-off) dedicated to these guys.

Well, that’s all for this list. If you find yourself disagreeing with any of the above items for any reason, then let me know in the comments. See you next week for more Top 10 in Fandom!
