Well, we’re now on Day 2 of NaNoWriMo and still on the first chapter of the story. So, where did I last leave off?
Jennifer is now in class, seething over her father’s upcoming wedding to a younger woman she doesn’t like. She’s still angry over the fact that her parents divorced and her father had cheated on her mother several times throughout the marriage.
Well, in the world of Jacquelwood, divorce is a big no-no, especially if there are kids involved. These days, it seems that more people are divorcing over money issues than adultery.
In real life, divorce causes pain and anger, not to mention hostility towards the divorcing couple from their families, but the couple ultimately pays for it with their children’s anger and hatred towards their parents.
Yeah it may be true that people can be happier after a divorce and kids can get over it, but in my stories, divorce usually makes one angry and bitter for a long time and the kids act out due to the anger they feel when mom and dad don’t love each other anymore.
So, how will I handle this in Jennifer’s case? Wait and see.
